The Federal Government, Sunday night reduced the pump price of petrol to N87/litre.
Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke while announcing the reduction said, the new pump price will take effect from 12:00am on Monday.

Before the reduction, petrol was selling for N97/litre.
Recall that the government on January 1, 2012 increased pumpprice to N141/litre which sparked widespread protests before it was reduced to N97/litre.
